Obituary

Jeanmarie Geis (49) together with her two angelic children: Matthew Tolle Geis (8) and Sydney Ting Geis (4) passed away on Friday morning December 19, 2008.

Jeanmarie, Matthew, and Sydney are survived by Frank Geis, the husband and father. They are also survived by mother and grandmother, Tammy Tolle, grandmother Bernice Geis, brother Greg Tolle and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Jeanmarie was preceded in death by her father, the late Judge Mark Tolle.

Jeanmarie was a graduate of Ursuline Academy and SMU. She was active in the community and business organizations. When she was not working as a successful real estate professional, her free time was spent volunteering at her children’s school and church. Jeanmarie was well known and loved for her kindness, caring and her ability to empathize. She was a remarkable woman with a gift for life and compassion.

To all who knew Matthew, his heart was bigger than life. After three years of hard work, he recently obtained his first degree black belt in Ti Kwon Do. Matthew was a vivacious young man who went out of his way to make you feel special. He was truly a gift from God and pure love.

Sydney was a star whose happy face and smile lit up a room. Her beauty radiated love and happiness that was infectious to all. Sydney’s spicy independence could always be counted on to add joy to life. She was truly a gift of the heart.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in memory of Jeanmarie, Matthew, and Sydney, to celebrate their lives by giving back to the community in various ways. A rosary will be held at 6:30 Friday, December 26 at St. Monica Catholic Church at Midway Road and Walnut Hill. A Celebration mass is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 27 at St. Monica’s Catholic Church. A reception will follow in the Family Center at the church.
